Sterling Hartwell
Sterling Hartwell was formed to address a structural gap in the artificial intelligence supply chain. Capital flows freely to model companies. Infrastructure capital is abundant. The data layer — the actual fuel — remains fragmented, poorly documented, and often encumbered by rights uncertainty.
We are an investment and brokerage firm that operates exclusively at this layer. We do not invest in model companies. We do not provide compute. We fund and broker the datasets, rights structures, and collection infrastructure that models depend on.
Our mandate is permanent. We are a private partnership with no fund lifecycles, no redemption pressure, and no obligation to deploy on artificial timelines. This allows us to align with data owners whose assets compound in value over years, not quarters.
Standards
We only engage with data assets that meet three criteria. Clear, traceable consent from subjects where applicable. Documented provenance from collection through current state. Verifiable licensing or ownership chain.
This standard eliminates the majority of available supply. It also protects our counterparties from the regulatory and reputational exposure that has begun to materialize across jurisdictions. We view this constraint as a feature, not a limitation.
Principal experience includes digital asset transactions, data licensing, and rights clearance at six to low seven figure scope. This is a scope descriptor, not a claim of specific firm transactions.
